SOUND
ENGINEER
Cornerstone Studio uses professional equipment in recording
sessions and sound reproduction. HOWEVER, it is important to note that
professional equipment is only an element in getting a quality sound.
The most important factor in getting a "solid" recording is
the skill and ear of the guy running the board.
At Cornerstone Studio, Mr. Andrew Schell is the Sound Engineer. Although
Mr. Schell is a CPA and a businessman, he started his college career
as a Music Student at the University of North Texas School of Music
where is studied Percussion and Musical Acoustics. Since then he has
accumulated over 20 years of sound and recording experience managing
sound reproduction for musical groups and churches in Texas, California
and Alaska.
He has been the recording engineer for hundreds of recorded songs with
thousands of tracks for groups including: Broadway Kidz, Charisma, the
Anchorage Contractors Association, television commericals, many audition
tapes for students, and both albums by the Texas recording artist "Brother
John".
He is a certified Lead Audio Engineer for the Alaska Center for the
Perforning Arts and he has been the sound engineer for live performances
over the past 20 years with many organizations including: the Anchorage
Community Theater at Grant Hall, Trinity Presbyterian Church,
Grace Community
Church (ChangePoint),
Crosspoint Community Chruch, Broadway Kidz
live on tour, and Broadway Kidz live at Cyranos & the Sydney Laurance
Theatre.
He is quick to point out that a SoundGuy should always continue to learn
new tricks especially as the revolution in Digital Recording progresses.
